Haere rã - Goodbyes

Good grief. Good goodbyes.

Saying goodbye to someone you love is incredibly hard. Honestly? It really sucks.

And planning a funeral while navigating grief can feel overwhelming too. Sometimes we have time to prepare. Other times, loss arrives suddenly and completely turns life upside down. Either way, the grief is enormous, the emotions are complicated, and there’s no “right” way to move through it.

That’s where I come in.

I’m here to listen, to guide you gently through the process, and to help create a farewell that truly reflects the person you love — their personality, their stories, their quirks, their people, and the life they lived.

What I offer as a funeral celebrant

A service that feels personal

Together, we’ll create a funeral or memorial service that genuinely reflects who your loved one was, not just a generic template or a series of formalities.

Guidance and support

During times like these, having someone calm, compassionate and experienced beside you matters. I’ve experienced personal loss myself and have also had the privilege of celebranting funerals for people I deeply loved, so I understand the delicate balance between grief, love, humour, empathy and care.

Permission to do things differently

I’ve built my celebrant career around the belief that there are no strict rules when it comes to meaningful ceremonies, and I believe that applies to funerals as much as to weddings.

Want to hand out drinks during the service? Encourage grandchildren to place drawings on the casket? Play their favourite questionable song? Tell the funny stories as well as the heartfelt ones?

Then let’s do that.

Because a farewell shouldn’t feel stiff, impersonal or disconnected from the person it’s for.

It should feel like them.
